According to the book "Choosing Universities Guide 2009" is prepared and published by the Center for Data Analysis and TEMPO, UDINUS ranks to 6 under the Institute Technology Bandung(ITB), University of Indonesia(UI), Gajah Mada University(UGM), Institue Technology 10 November(ITS), and UBINUS Jakarta in the field of Information Technology / Computer Science. Meanwhile, Rank 7 to 10 placed by STIKOM Surabaya, Universitas Diponegoro, STT Telkom and UNIKOM.

Besides achieving the rank 6 National field of Computer Science, UDINUS also occupies rank third universities in the region of Central Java under UNDIP and UNNES. Ten other large populated by Sultan Agung University(Unissula), Unika Soegijapranata, UKSW, UNS, UNTAG, Jendaral Sudirman University(UNSUD) and UNISBANK.

This book is survey in a number of major cities in Indonesia, especially with a state university and a famous private university. survey conducted by TEMPO is to create a ranking of universities according to the view that society consists of prospective students, parents of students and students who is at the first level. This ranking is a result of public perception of the quality of higher education based on specific experiences and their knowledge. These results provide a view of universities which have good image in the public eye.

SURVEY METHOD
Method in the design of quantitative surveys. means a number of respondents to the interview by phone with the sampling frame was taken from the phone book in some big cities of the respondents with the 1950 peoples. Profil of student respondents will graduating from senior high school consist of 52% women and 48% boys. Student Respondents consist of 46 % department of science, 30% department of social dan 24% from other department. While the profile parents, 52% from mothers dan 47% from fathers. Economic status of respondents, 52% from family with expenditure class A, 30% from class B, 16% from class C dan 2% from class D and E. Selain menilai peringkat perguruan tinggi secara keseluruhan, respondents also rate the best universities in each region. Data of survey result was processed with descriptive statistical analysis and rank Thurstone. Thurstone analysis is used to get sequence of best universities for see how much higher that one surpass the other.
